AGIAMONDO Co-worker about their daily work and life in Uganda

Your work with AGIAMONDO and Diocese of Moroto

Responsible and challenging

AGIAMONDO is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service (CPS), we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The CPS is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It works for a world in which conflicts are settled without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Uganda, AGIAMONDO wants to contribute to the civil conflict resolution there and to the sustainable and just development of the country through peacebuilding measures.

The land department of the diocese of Moroto plays an important role in the challenging circumstances of the Karamoja region. Violent clashes regularly occur here due to resource discoveries, population growth and cattle rustling, which have a major impact on the daily lives of the Karamajong population. In this context, there is an urgent need for education on land rights issues. The Land Unit is particularly committed to protecting communal land through collective land titles in order to prevent land grabbing and secure people's livelihoods.
