AGIAMONDO is the personnel service of the German Catholics for development cooperation. Trainer E-Learning (m/f/x) for digital learning media, Baucau, Timor-Leste
Your new role
Timor-Leste is the youngest democracy in Asia whose society still suffers from the consequences of decades of violence. However, due to its wealth of natural resources, the country is in a very good position to develop positively. Since two-thirds of the current population is under 30 years of age, education and peace education in particular play a central role in creating the basis for peaceful coexistence and in developing and improving social skills.
Digital education for young people is also becoming increasingly important as access to digital media continues to grow. At the same time, knowledge about the healthy use of digital media is still very low, which is why conflicts arise time and again in this context as well.
The Instituto Católico para Formaҫão de Professores (ICFP) is a Catholic, state-accredited teacher training institute in Baucau, Timor-Leste. The organization's mission is to train teachers and thus contribute to a fundamental improvement of the education system in Timor-Leste. The institute works closely with other local schools in the eastern parts of the country and thus tries to anchor its educational work locally. In addition, educational research is intended to make a general contribution to the further development of the national education system. . The mission of the ICFP is based on the educational teachings of St. Marcellin Champagnat, the founding father of the Brothers of Mary who run the Institute in Baucau.
Specifically, you will carry out the following tasks:
- You will analyze the existing online learning platform and make necessary adjustments and improvements.
- You will support students, graduates and other stakeholders in the use of the online platform.
- You will create teaching content in the areas of peace education, conflict resolution, and non-violent classroom management, and will be responsible for testing and piloting the digital modules.
- You will train and support ICFP staff* in content creation.
- You will contribute to strengthening the alumni network of ICFP graduates*.
Your profile
- You have a Master's degree, e.g. in education, social sciences, ethology or a comparable field.
- You have at least two years of work experience in the creation of teaching content with digital learning platforms.
- You are fluent in English and motivated to learn Tetum, one of the two official languages as part of your preparation.
- You have a motor vehicle driver's license.
- You are a citizen of the EU or Switzerland and identify with the goals and concerns of church development and peace work and support them convincingly.
