Your work with AGIAMONDO and Holy Land Trust

Responsible and challenging

AGIAMONDO is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service (CPS), we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The CPS is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It works for a world in which conflicts are settled without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Palestine, AGIAMONDO wants to contribute to the civil conflict resolution there and to the sustainable and just development of the country through peacebuilding measures.

Holy Land Trust is a professional Palestinian NGO with a vision for a just peace and sustainable change in people's lives. It strives to improve the general, as well as the personal, situation of the Palestinian people.

The organization is gaining popularity in the U.S. and Europe and, with the help of its trained external mediators, is able to reach the wider Palestinian and Israeli public. Unlike many other Palestinian NGOs, the organization is in active contact with members of Israeli civil society.

The Bethlehem workplace is very special from a spiritual point of view, and the friendly and open-minded population makes integration into society relatively easy.

Since 1967, the West Bank, and therefore Bethlehem, has been under Israeli military occupation, which affects the daily life of the Palestinian population in many ways, especially since the second Intifada, when the Israeli government built a wall between the Palestinian territories and Israel. Since then, Bethlehem has suffered from the closure of the West Bank. The Israeli and Palestinian governments have not really promoted a peace process in recent years, but instead support the segregation of the two societies.
