AGIAMONDO Co-worker about their daily work and life in Cameroon

Your cooperation with AGIAMONDO and Hermanas Lauritas

Responsible and challenging

AGIAMONDO e. V. is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence.
In Colombia, the CPS has been supporting civil society organisations for many years in developing non-violent conflict resolution, strengthening human rights and supporting traumatised communities. The work of the ZFD is based on partnership, trust and long-term commitment. Experts contribute their expertise, learn from local experiences and help to strengthen structures for peaceful coexistence.

You will be based in the Resguardo Edén Cartagena in the rural area of Ricaurte (Nariño). The region is tropical humid, with limited infrastructure and a dynamic security situation. Travel typically takes place during daylight hours and often together with community members or the Guardia Indígena. Accommodation is initially provided in the house of the Hermanas Lauritas, and later possibly within the resguardo. Medical services are available locally, with more comprehensive care in Pasto and Ipiales. The Resguardo Edén Cartagena is committed to strengthening cultural identity, collective values, territorial autonomy, and community well being. Collaboration includes work with women and youth, psychosocial accompaniment, educational processes, and nonviolent conflict transformation. Close partnerships exist with indigenous networks such as URIPAWA, CRIC and ONIC as well as with church actors.

This location is not suitable for families with children.
