Your work with AGIAMONDO and FNDSC

Responsible and Challenging

AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Cameroon, AGIAMONDO aims to make a contribution to civil conflict resolution and sustainable, equitable development in the country through peace-building measures.

The CPS country program in Cameroon promotes role models for non-violent conflict resolution and develops appropriate approaches to reduce existing tensions and create long-term peace. Partner organizations expand school curricula to include peace education and dispute resolution and support acute conflicts over land and resources at community level with dialogue and mediation. The aim is to find viable agreements and involve government agencies in order to achieve long-term peaceful solutions. In addition, peace-building awareness is promoted in order to reduce prejudices and social divisions. Cameroon's cultural diversity is strengthened as an enrichment for communal coexistence.

The partner organization Filles de Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur (FNDSC) is committed to protecting and empowering girls, women and young people who are affected by cultural and psychological violence. Discrimination, forced marriages and early pregnancies make social integration and the well-being of those affected more difficult. With limited resources, the organization is working to meet these challenges and give those affected a dignified perspective.

Yaoundé offers a wide range of safe housing options as well as good medical care for the context. The security situation is stable, although political tensions can occasionally arise. The city offers a wide range of leisure activities, including cultural centers, museums, sports facilities and restaurants serving international cuisine. Schools and universities offer educational opportunities for children of all ages, making the location suitable for families, couples and individuals.
