Cooperation with AGIAMONDO and the Latin Patriarchal Vicariate

Responsible and challenging

AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (ZFD) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Jordan, AGIAMONDO aims to make a contribution to civil conflict resolution and sustainable, equitable development in the country through peace-building measures.

Jordan is a culturally and religiously diverse country in which around half of the population is of Palestinian origin. In recent years, 1.36 million refugees have arrived from crisis regions such as Iraq and Syria, as well as migrants from East Africa. Many of these people have limited access to education and medical care. Jordan's young population, 63% of whom are under 30 years old, makes the promotion of tolerance and social cohesion particularly important.

The Latin Patriarchal Vicariate in Jordan is committed to educating a peaceful and inclusive generation through the introduction of peace education in its secondary schools (grades 8-9). They support the building of a respectful and inclusive school community and contribute to the development of new approaches to tackling local and regional conflicts.
