"It is important to empathize with the local partners and to take their perspective."

AGIAMONDO Consultant about her daily work

Your work together with AGIAMONDO and Misereor

Electricity is a basic requirement for social and economic participation in times of increasing digitalization.

In the regions of Africa where Misereor's partner organizations are active, the aim is to provide people with affordable access to electrical energy in order to meet their everyday needs and enable local business development. Furthermore, partner institutions, for example in the health or education sector, need a reliable and affordable power supply.

In view of the climate crisis, a sustainable energy supply can only be developed based on renewable sources. Especially in remote regions without connection to national power grids, the use of solar, small hydropower, wind and bioenergy offers the best conditions for the development of decentralized, reliable supply structures and additional job opportunities. In this field we want to strengthen the know-how and competences of our local partners

Misereor works with various church and secular partner organizations in the field of climate protection and climate resilience. This includes the dissemination of the use of renewable energies.

As a temporary consultant at AGIAMONDO, you will work closely with the local stakeholders and Misereor in Aachen. In Germany, you will work on a mobile basis and undertake approximately four to six trips per year to the African partner countries, currently with a regional focus on Eastern Congo and Rwanda.
