Cooperation with AGIAMONDO and WAYN

Supporting political youth work

AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Sierra Leone, AGIAMONDO aims to contribute to civil conflict resolution and sustainable, equitable development in the country through peace-building measures.

As a youth-led organization, the West African Youth Network (WAYN) strives to become a training center for young professionals and leaders. The organization's capacity in skills development and mentoring needs to be strengthened to achieve this goal.

As a youth-led grassroots organization, the West African Youth Network is small but agile, innovative and full of energy. The Civil Peace Service professional will have the opportunity to be heavily involved in the organization and contribute to the positive development of its staff and volunteers.

Due to a very young population, the participation of young people in political decision-making processes is a key issue for Sierra Leone and the region. WAYN is well positioned to bring youth-oriented organizations and voices together and bring about important change in their political recognition.
